Frode Neilsen Dann
Born in Jelstrup, Havbro, Denmark, Frode Dann was a painter, art critic, and teacher in Southern California. He studied at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen, subsequently working there for ten years in art restoration. In 1926, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Pasadena. He also lived in Santa Barbara. His wife was noted California modernist painter Katherine Skeele-Dann. In Pasadena, Dann was director and instructor at the School of Fine Arts and art critic for the Star News. He was a member of the California Watercolor Society.
